Stained-Glass Inspired Cushion

So this was my second 3rd Year project which was to create an interiors product to submit to the Habitat/House & Home competition. I tried to mimic the colour and luminescence of the work of stained-glass artist Harry Clarke through woven fabric. I used acrylic yarns in a double cloth to enhance the intensity and interplay of colours.

LED Jewellery @ Show & Sell @ Lightwave

While working on the scarf project below, I developed a prototype crocheted wire neckpiece and bracelet incorporating LEDs. These were shown at the Show & Sell Event hosted by the Science Gallery on the 7th of February 2008.

'Lightwear' Scarf Project

Our first project in 3rd Year Woven textiles was set by Trinity College's new Science Gallery. The brief was to create a fashion accessory that used light technology. My scarf/hood is made up of fibre-optic cable, white mohair, hi-vis reflective yarns and LEDs woven on an 8-shaft table loom. It was featured in the 'Lightwear' fashion show in the Science Gallery on the 9th of February 2008.
